A group of thirteen members of the German triathlon club SG Poseidon, are standing alongside the track to support Age-groeper Michael Shaefer. With loud cheering they are an enthusiastic appearance. “I hope he will enjoy this competition”, his wife Nicole states. She continues: “It looks like he will finish somewhere in the middle”.

Nearly all members are fanatic triathletes. “Three of us have won prizes with the swimrun. We all wanted to compete in the triathlon here, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible. My husband competes, but had to stop because of a damaged outer tire. That’s a bummer”, says Ingrid Nikkels, originally from The Netherlands, but currently living in Germany.

The group of athletes has participated in various triathlons. “But we seldom see such triathlons as the one in Holten. Everything is just perfect: the swimming in the Domelaar, the stands, the technics. Everything is solid as a rock.”
