Erin Densham winner World Cup Holten |

The Australian Erin Densham has won the ITU World Cup Triathlon in Holten. The 25 year old Densham took a distance from the competition during the running part. The Italian Annamaria Mazzetti finished second; Radka Vodickova (Cze) third.

Maaike Caelers was the first Dutch contestant to finish, she finished fifth. She won the Dutch title Olympic Distance. Caelers overtook the competition Lisa Mensink (8th) and Neiske Becks (9th).

For Densham, former World Champion under 23, this was her first victory in a World Cup Contest. Densham was in good shape and not affected by the tropical conditions. “I had the feeling others had more trouble with the weather than I.” About a third of all elite contestants didn’t finish.
Holten is de fifth contest in the ITU World Cup circuit 2010. The contest for the elite athletes consisted of 1500 meter swimming, 38,7 kilometer cycling and 10,4 kilometer running.
