Community and elite sports, that’s Triathlon Holten. Two days of international top competitions with a packed sports and atmosphere program for amateurs and the public. Whether you’re participating, watching from the sidelines, or attending the evening parties, Triathlon Holten is an event you can’t miss; so, get your calendar ready.
The triathlon is on Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Each year, elite athletes from all over the world and amateurs from across the Netherlands travel to the Salland village to take on the challenging course. The organization of Triathlon Holten is proud that Holten will again be the battlefield of an international triathlon for elite athletes in 2025. For the 18th consecutive year, the European Triathlon Union has awarded Holten with a prestigious Europe Triathlon Premium Cup event. Athletes from the world elite compete for ranking points and a place on the podium on the famous course in and around the Sallandse Heuvelrug.
The event in Holten has been on the international calendar since 2002. The junior series has also been awarded to Holten by the European union again this year, ensuring even more top-level spectacle. Both competitions will be held on the Saturday. As in previous editions, a sporting and festive program is planned for recreational participants and the public on the Friday and Saturday.
On Friday evening, runners can head to the start for the 5 or 10-kilometer race. Additionally, the youth triathlon and the business triathlon will also be on the program that evening. Both days are festively concluded with the spectacular opening party on Friday and the afterparty on Saturday.

Triathlon Holten is an event that can count on approximately 2500 participants, more than 15,000 visitors, and the efforts of over 1050 volunteers. Registration for the most beautiful triathlon in the Netherlands opens in December. We will announce the exact date on our website.
