Good Conditions During Vivera Run

Challenging Course

At the Vivera Run, most participants were pleased with their achieved results. Runners found the temperature acceptable. In contrast to the course, which was described as challenging and demanding.

Robin Rietman (winner five kilometers men)
“Last week, I participated in the 1500 meters at the Dutch Athletics Championships. Friends of mine live along the course in Holten and had often told me I should participate here someday. This year, I finally agreed, and I am positively surprised. All those people along the side, the music; really amazing! And then you also come in first. That’s absolutely great.”

Aniek Mars (winner five kilometers women)
“I was hoping for a top three among the women and even became first on the five kilometers. Last year, I participated in the Rabo Kids Triathlon. This year, it’s the Vivera Run, and next year I hope to participate in the 1/8 triathlon. The atmosphere here is always fantastic, and I ran well. In short: I am satisfied.”

Mark Saathof (winner ten km men)
“I found it tough. The course has some sections that are slightly uphill. And on the Aalpolsweg, I was running against the wind. That made it doubly tough. But in the end, I am satisfied. It is a beautiful course to run. I live in Nijverdal myself, but Holten feels a bit like a home match for me. I have participated in the triathlon in the past and also the Vivera Run last year.”

Kate Roberts (winner 10 km women)
“Four years ago, I stood on the podium in Holten. I finished third among the elite women back then. That was one of my last races as a triathlete. Nowadays, I am a coach of the South African team. I participated today for fun. It’s a challenging course in Holten. Only after the first lap did I realize it’s the same course as during the triathlon. It would be nice if we could also achieve a podium place with the South African team tomorrow. That will be difficult. We have a young group of athletes, and the race in Holten is one of the toughest. It’s mainly important for them to gain experience and enjoy it. I certainly enjoyed myself today.”
