Bebseler and Ter Horst win among the women
Gasping for breath and with bright red faces, that’s how most participants crossed the finish line at the Vivera Run. For the second year in a row, the race on Friday evening is recorded as a warm edition. Participants agreed: the course and conditions were challenging again. During the Vivera Run, it was Mark Groot Bronsvoort who was the first athlete to cross the finish line. The resident of Mariënheem completed the five kilometers through the center of Holten in a time of 00:17:20.
“Where the race almost immediately began with a leading group of three, I managed to decide the race about a kilometer before the finish,” said Groot Bronsvoort. “That’s when I was able to break away from the rest and ran the rest of the race on my own. It was definitely not easy.”
Ellis Bebseler could call herself the fastest lady in the five kilometers. The resident of Holten stayed ahead of Gerja Zielman with her time of 00:18:45. The Heinose’s time of 00:18:58 proved good for second place. Jorina Janssen-Braamhaar completed the podium for the ladies.
“Two years ago I participated as well and then I took the wrong turn,” Bebseler said afterwards. “That cost me a lot of time back then. I also suffered from an Achilles tendon injury. In May, I ran my first race again and today for the first time under nineteen minutes. This time I have a happier feeling.”
Nick Zwienenberg claimed the ten kilometers in his name. The resident of Nijverdal eventually finished in a time of 00:34:03.
“It was warm, and we anticipated that at the start, so we didn’t run too fast the first few kilometers,” Zwienenberg said afterwards. “Together with the runner-up, I ran a steady race and there was little faltering. It’s a pity that Glenn had to ease off at some point. He had to save energy for tomorrow, as he is participating in the Triathlon.”
Among the women, Jannie ter Horst took the victory. The resident of Holten stayed well ahead of the competition.
“It was a tough course,” said the winner. “I didn’t run a personal best but I’m satisfied. I am also a recreational runner. Tomorrow I will help all day at the Domelaar, until the eighth triathlon starts. Afterwards, we will sit on the stands with all the Beusebergers.”
In the battle for the fastest company team, the team of Sportvoedingwebshop.com, consisting of Henk-Jan Koershuis, Marc Bakhuis, and Patrick Benjamins, crowned themselves winners in the five kilometers. With a combined time of 00:57:02, they stayed ahead of De Jong & Laan by five seconds. The company team Koers Oost Personeelsdiensten (3) completed the podium in the five kilometers. In the ten kilometers, Hemink Groep (2) took the victory. The company teams VolkerWessels BVGO (18) and VolkerWessels BVGO (6) took home silver and bronze, respectively, at this distance.
