Triathlete Second Overall and Winner Holten’s Championship
During the thirty-fifth edition of the Triathlon Holten, Jessie Muller took home two awards. The resident of Holten captured the second place overall with a time of 02:18:39 and crowned himself Holten’s champion on the Olympic Distance.
,,Last year I finished sixth in the OD,” Muller said after the race. ,,My cousin Mark Muller then won the Holten’s championship. It’s nice to follow in his footsteps. Swimming went well and running too. Unfortunately, I fell short on the bike to also win overall.”
Muller therefore had to concede the overall victory to Mario A Salvador Sutton. The Deventer local won the Olympic Distance with a time of 02:16:43. The Enschede native Pascal Bruins took bronze in the same distance.
Cindy Brussé was able to stand on the top podium during the women’s awards. The Aalten local completed the Olympic Distance in a time of 02:31:27 and therefore took the victory. Samantha de Bruin eventually crowned herself as number two, Marjan Doppen completed the podium.
,,This was the first time I participated in an OD,” De Bruin said. ,,I am from Veenendaal and often participate in local triathlons. Friends brought me to Holten. But this is definitely worth repeating.”
Britt le Fevre was able to call herself Holten’s champion among the women in the Olympic Distance. The triathlete edged out fellow townspeople Karin Reterink and Ans Lammertink, who finished second and third respectively in the local championship.
