Jessica Fullagar winner junior women
Jessica Fullagar clinched the victory among women during the ETU Junior European Cup. The time of 01:02:58 in which the Frenchwoman finished was enough for the overall victory in Holten.
,”I was lucky to be in a good cycling group,” said Fullagar. “We were in it with three French. I had been sick for a while and therefore couldn’t help as much as I wanted. The running segment was very warm, so I grabbed as much water as I could.”
Fullagar wasn’t the only triathlete who described the thirty-fifth edition of the Triathlon Holten as warm. There were many compliments from triathletes for the many water points along the course and the spectators who provided cooling with garden hoses and sprinklers. Among the junior men, Lorcan Redmond managed to cope best with the heat. The Australian seized the overall victory in a time of 00:56:33.
,”In Australia, we call this a winter triathlon,” joked Redmond. “But we’ve been training in Spain the past few weeks. The weather there is comparable to the weather here. Being from Australia has probably been an advantage. Some good British triathletes had a very tough time today.”
