Registration for the Triathlon Holten June 28 and 29, 2019

From December 16, 2018 via www.triathlonholten.nl

Registration for the 35th edition of Triathlon Holten 2019 opens for all categories on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Participation is based on registration, so there will be no lottery, just like last year. Those who want to be sure of a starting number are advised to register in time via www.triathlonholten.nl.

Maximum number of places
‘For the eighth distance, 210 start numbers are available for Holten residents and 350 for non-Holten residents,’ says chairman Martin Pieters. A waiting list will be used if there are more registrations than start spots. There are 450 places available for the Olympic Distance and 70 places for the kids triathlon for ages 12-15. New this year is that kids from age 8 instead of 9 can participate in the group 8 to 11 years, for which 70 places are also available. ‘Just like last year, company teams can also participate in the Companies (trio) Triathlon and Vivera Run. Registration for this also starts on December 16.’ More information will follow at a later date.

New elements
‘Every year, there are new elements that we must take into account.’ Based on the guidelines of the National Triathlon Association, this year there is a Kids Triathlon for ages 14-15. ‘That means the eighth triathlon is only from age 16. The reference date used for this is the age on December 31, 2019.

The most fun Triathlon in the Netherlands
Once again, the center of Holten and its surroundings undergo a sporty transformation on the last weekend of June. The fantastic event is buzzing with everything related to swimming, cycling, and running. National and international triathletes go all out on Saturday to score the coveted points during the ETU Triathlon Premium Cup Elite and ETU Triathlon Junior Cup. Participants of the eighth distance, Olympic Distance, and company teams then take on the challenging course, cheered on by the enthusiastic crowd lining the streets. But it is the youth who kick off the festive weekend on Friday evening with the Kids triathlon, followed by the 5 km and 10 km run for running enthusiasts. For those who do not (yet) want to participate in a triathlon but still want to be part of one of the largest events in Overijssel, the Run is a must.
