The registration for the 36th edition of the Triathlon Holten opens this year on Sunday, January 30. Triathletes can register on this date from 06:00 AM via this page on the website.
The Triathlon Holten will take place this year on Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2. A weekend in which both international and national athletes and recreational participants start in the triathlon village. Professional athletes in Holten can compete in a Europe Triathlon Premium Cup and Europe Triathlon Junior Cup, while recreational participants can choose between an eighth triathlon or the Olympic distance. The popular Vivera Run will take place this year, unlike previous years, on Saturday morning. Registration for both the Triathlon recreational and the Vivera Run opens on January 30, at 06:00 AM.
Traditionally, the triathlon weekend kicks off on Friday evening with a triathlon for budding athletes. Children aged 8 to 11 can participate in the Supersprint youth triathlon, where they will swim for one hundred meters, cycle for five kilometers and run for 1.25 kilometers, finishing in the center of Holten.
Children from 12 years old can participate in the Sprint youth triathlon. This distance consists of 250 meters of swimming, 10 kilometers of cycling, and 2.5 kilometers of running. New this year is that the Sprint youth triathlon will be expanded with age categories for 16, 17, 18, and 19 years. The Sprint youth triathlon is therefore intended for participants aged 12 to 19 years old. Registration for both youth categories also opens on January 30.
Clinics
Participants who want to start well-prepared in Holten can again participate in the various clinics this year. The cycling clinic and running clinic will start on April 1 and 4 respectively; the swimming clinic starts on May 11. In addition, the youth clinic is organized for triathletes up to 15 years old. From May 24, young triathletes will be prepared over four Tuesday evenings for participation in the Triathlon Holten, after which they will explore the course on Friday, June 24.
