Diede Diederiks and Aaron Lynch fastest triathletes
In the first division race, Diede Diederiks was the first female triathlete to cross the finish line. Diederiks, representing EDOSports from Maastricht, completed the sprint distance at the Holten Triathlon in a time of 01:07:35. And this understandably led to joy.
,,In the previous first division race, I came in a shared first and in the race before that, second,” Diederiks said. “Great that I have now won.”
Diederiks described the warm conditions as tough, although there was plenty of opportunity for cooling down. “There were showers on the course and people stood with garden hoses along the side. I would like to thank the people in Holten for that. Ultimately, I hope that we will take third place with the team, then we have a chance for promotion.”
Diederiks and her teammates Neiske Becks, Melissa Visseren, and Sanne van der Meer succeeded in this. In the overall standings, EDOSports secured third place with a total of 41 points. Hellas 2 claimed the silver with a total of 33 points, and TVA 2 crowned themselves the winners in Holten with 30 points.
Among the men, Marijn de Jonge, Cornelis Scheltinga, Daan Gehlen, and Martijn Keijsers stood on the top podium. The triathletes from Rogelli/TriMates 2 captured first place with a total of 29 points. In the men’s section too, Hellas 2 took home the silver, with TC Twente 2 completing the podium.
