HOLTEN — On Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29, the 35th edition of the Holten Triathlon will take place. This sporty weekend kicks off on Friday evening with the Rabo Kids Triathlon and the Vivera Run. Following the sporting part, the evening will conclude with an opening party.
In this, the course set by the Triathlon Holten Foundation remains unchanged compared to last year, with the organization again aiming for a spectacular start to a sporty weekend. “The Holten Triathlon has now grown into a sport festival and thus the combination of sport and fun is quickly made. We will certainly continue this trend this year,” says Martin Pieters, chairman of the organizing foundation.
Total Atmosphere Experience
The opening of the Triathlon on Friday evening promises to be quite an event. After the future triathletes have finished the Rabo Kids Triathlon, the Vivera Run will begin. During this race, participants will cover a distance of 5 or 10 kilometers individually or with a company team. They will run over the 2.5-kilometer-long running course of the Triathlon.
According to Pieters, this is exactly what makes the race so unique and atmospheric. “The course partly runs through the cozy center of Holten, participants will be cheered on at every street corner by spectators. Moreover, participants approach the built stadium at Kalfstermansweide every round, making them feel like top athletes each time.”
But it’s not just about the race for the organization; it’s about the total atmosphere experience they aim for. “We want to give participants and spectators the best Holten has to offer, and that already starts with a communal warm-up. This will be provided by Movado Sports, a gym with branches in Holten, Goor, and Eibergen. The cooling down is also taken care of. This is handled by the band Kabaal from Bathmen, who will be on stage during the opening party. This band has opened for acts like Normaal, Bløf, and Rowwen Hèze in the past, so it’s bound to be fun.”

7:00 PM: Start Rabo Kids Triathlon;

Registration Open
Registration is already open and 250 participants will appear at the starting line during the Vivera Run. Registration closes on June 26 at 12:00 PM, but will close earlier if all start places are filled.
