Vivera has linked its name to the Triathlon for many years. For the past five years, they have also been the name sponsor of the Vivera-run. Karin Löwik, marketing manager, explains why Vivera finds the Triathlon Holten such an important event.
“We are happy to contribute to a major sporting event in the region. Our company is also located in Holten, so the choice for the Triathlon Holten was easily made. Our products contribute, just like sports, to people’s health. That’s why we found it a logical choice to associate our name with a sports activity, such as the triathlon and the Vivera-run.”
Plant-based better for people and planet
Meat substitutes are important because they are better for people and the planet. “We ensure less CO2 emissions and use less land and water in production. The products contain more protein and fiber and less fat, salt, and calories.”
Vegetarian assortment during triathlon
“The vegetarian trend is often larger in cities than in villages. At events like the triathlon, we want to promote our products. This year, there is an opportunity to taste Vivera’s dishes. In the VIP tent, Vivera products are also served, prepared by De Swarte Ruijter. Two fairly new dishes will be prepared and distributed here, namely the plant-based salmon and chicken fillet.”
Plant-based versus meat
Vivera products are also available in the snack wagons on the event grounds. “People often try the cheapest alternative. We want to test this in Holten,” says Karin. “The vegetarian products are available for one token, while the meat products are sold for one and a half tokens. We hope this encourages people to try a plant-based alternative.”
Participation
And, of course, Vivera itself participates with several company teams in the Vivera-run. Some employees start in the eighth triathlon. “But a large part of the team will also be there for encouragement,” says Karin. “We wish our own employees and the other participants lots of success in the preparation and for the race itself.”
