After two canceled editions, the Holten Triathlon is finally back on the schedule this year. This means that the battle for the Holten championship is also starting again. Who will be called the fastest Holtenaar after the 36th edition?
One thing is already certain before the Holten Triathlon: among the men, the winners of 2019 will have successors this year. Neither Stefan Pekkeriet nor Jessie Muller will compete at the distance where they became Holten champions three years ago.
Pekkeriet crowned himself the fastest Holtenaar in 2019 for the first time in the eighth triathlon. In that event, Pekkeriet’s name is missing from the start list this year. The athlete from Beuseberg will be present at the Holten Triathlon’s 36th edition for the Olympic distance.
Jessie Muller will also have a successor. Muller became the Holten champion in 2019 at the Olympic distance but will not participate in the Holten Triathlon this year. Andy de Jong might just take the title this year. In the race for the Holten championship on the OD, De Jong finished second last year.
