food court, street theater and extra music acts
To further enhance the atmosphere and experience during the triathlon, this year two additional stages with music acts and street theater have been realized in collaboration with Holten’s hospitality industry in the city center. Also new is a real ‘food court’ with stands serving a range of delicacies. “Visitors and participants will therefore enjoy a lot of extra entertainment and culinary delights in a festival setting,” said Martin Pieters, chairman of the Holten Triathlon Foundation.
Street theater
For the first time this year, additional live acts are organized on the Smidsbelt and in the Dorpsstraat. Music and street theater provide entertainment there. The performances range from children’s acts to DJ sets and offer entertainment for young and old alike.
The acts:
• Radio Barkas: Radio Barkas is the smallest radio station in the Benelux and plays original singles and LPs from the 1950s and 1960s.
• The Golf Balls & Friends: Roderick and Willemijn from The Golf Balls & Friends will explore Holten on the back of their two ‘carriers’.
• Young Dogs: The Young Dogs wander around sniffing and barking to explore their territory in Holten.
• Ready to Cross: do you want to cross? Ready to Cross ensures that you arrive safely at your destination with all your limbs still attached!
• Burning Raspberries: Burning Raspberries plays with ingredients and scent and prepares various dishes in a spectacular manner.
The street theater acts perform alternately on Saturday, June 29, between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, on the Smidsbelt and in the Dorpsstraat.
Food court
The new food court is a unique collaboration between the Holten Triathlon and most of the local hospitality venues. Various food stands have been set up on the edge of the Kalfstermansweide, between Zwartepad and the adjacent shops. The restaurants there serve a variety of culinary dishes. From local to international, from meat to vegetarian, and from low-calorie to high-calorie. Visitors and participants have plenty of choices when it comes to catering to their inner selves.
The food court is open on Friday from 7:00 PM to 1:30 AM and on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:30 AM.
Jupiler After Race Party with Reeperbahner Stimmungsmacher and DJ Sander Scheperman
Of course, the finish arena concludes with a bang on Saturday evening with the Jupiler After Race Party, where the Reeperbahner Stimmungsmacher entertains the audience.
