Vivera Run with Beautiful Sunny Weather

After more than three years of absence, the Vivera Run can finally celebrate its five-year anniversary. Over 300 participants are ready at 10:20 a.m. on Dorpsstraat for the start. Participants in the five and ten kilometers and the business teams start at this time. The course looks beautiful again, the sun is shining, bringing a summery temperature. The runners first run over the Smidsbelt, then they come via the Boschkampstraat to the Zandvoortspad. Via the Aalpolsweg, they run over the Oranjestraat back to the ‘finish arena’. Here they are loudly cheered on by all the spectators. The runners in the five kilometers run the round twice, and those in the ten kilometers run it four times.

Nick Zwienenberg finishes as the first man in the five kilometers with a time of 00:15:45 minutes. “I had hoped to run somewhere in the 15 minutes. I didn’t give it my all entirely but still managed to do it. So I’m satisfied with that. It was a fun race with a challenging course. A bit of climbing, a gravel path, and a turn where you have to get back up to speed. I also had to do a lot alone. Overall, I managed to run well twice and am very pleased.”

The first female in the ten kilometers is Arenda Könnecke from Nijverdal with a time of 00:41:55 minutes. Happy and exhilarated, she crosses the finish line. “Yes, under 42 minutes,” she exclaims cheerfully. She is very satisfied with her race. “Normally, I run longer distances. I am training for the 100-kilometer World Championships on August 28th in Berlin. Actually, this race falls right in the middle of a training week, but I just consider it a training race. The course was challenging in some parts, especially running on gravel was an adjustment. But I am very satisfied with my time.”
