On Friday evening, the Youth Triathlon started in Holten at 6:30 PM.
This event consisted of two parts: the Youth Triathlon Supersprint (1/32) and the Youth Triathlon Sprint (1/16).
Sisters Maud and Puk Lamfers from Apeldoorn both won the first prize in their category. They participated for the second time in Holten. For winner Luuk van Huizen from Zwolle, it was his first triathlon. “I saw it on the children’s news. It seemed really fun to participate.”
In the later start group, there were again two sisters who were the winners in their category. This time it was Zoey and Sarah de Vries from Drachten. For Sarah, the victory came as a surprise: “I have been injured for a year and a half and I really didn’t expect this.”
For Rumar Slinkman from Rijssen, the race went much better than expected. “This was the third time I participated, and I found it really super fun to do. That’s why I like to participate every year.”
